Big Year Ahead 2026 - AIB Group AIB 02/26

26 January 2026

AIB 02/26

We are facing into yet another big year for AIB staff and it is vital we continue to strengthen and grow your union so we can achieve the best possible outcomes for you and your colleagues.

Hybrid working

We continue to represent individuals, and the collective, to achieve improvements and solutions that work for members around flexibility, hub capacity and locations. We met Kevin Duffy with the Bank last week, we will continue our discussions and will share updates very soon.

This is just the start of this work. There is more to come.

Pay for 1st April 2026

We have engaged with the Bank around pay following on from the pay survey and we hope to have further talks very shortly to achieve a pay deal that reflect your key asks and expectations in our pay survey.

Variable Pay – Profit Share

As you will recall variable pay was returned on the back of political and industrial campaigning by this union. Last year members were awarded the maximum % under this scheme. We would be hopeful of the same again this year on the back of what looks like a very strong performance for AIB in 2025. We will stay close to this until it is announced in February.

Pay Transparency Directive

This year AIB needs to ensure compliance with the Pay Transparency Directive.  This will have an impact upon career and reward structures.  Any changes must be negotiated with FSU and should lead to greater career and reward transparency for you.

These are just some of the issues we will face together this year. Please talk to colleagues who are not in the union. Forward them this email and ask them to join with you to strengthen the collective voice of staff.  People can join here in a couple of easy steps https://www.fsunion.org/join/
